Barva
Barva is situated east of Eskilstuna, and is a rural area with a 12th century church and some interesting ancient burial grounds on a ridge. You will also find the Sörmland bridle path, and bird sanctuaries at Nasen and Sörfjärden.
Botvidstäppan, Bälgviken
At Botvidstäppan you will find the remains of a 17th century settlement. Read about the fascinating story of Botvid, Sven and Haar. You will also find plantations and a charcoal kiln.

Ekeby wetlands
Ekeby wetlands is situated between Folkestaleden and E20. It is a large area of filter beds used for ecologically processing waste water. There are good walking and cycling paths by the ponds. The area is rich in bird life and has a bird watch tower.
Kvicksund at Mälaren and in two counties
Kvicksund is a summer paradise with tempting beaches, a marina and sports fishing. Kvicksund is also home to Tegelviken, one of Sweden’s newest schools of ecology.
Näshulta, south of Eskilstuna
Näshulta has many ancient remains. Here you will find Tykenhedsberget, the highest peak in Eskilstuna and a rural idyll at the Näshulta stream.
Näshulta is also rich in bird life, has great swimming opportunities and trips by the steam boat Gerda on the Näshulta lake. South of the lake you can walk along the popular Sörmlandsleden and Näckrosleden hiking routes.

Skjulsta on Eskilstuna river
In Skjulsta there are beautiful oak hills, groves, meadows and forests. You will find the remains of king Karl IX’s canal on the east side, a café, a public sauna and great barbeque and fishing opportunities. Swimming and hiking along the river in Vilsta forest is also a popular activity.
Tumbo, west of Eskilstuna
In Tumbo you will find one of the oldest and best preserved Romanesque churches in the Mälaren area. There is also a historic Viking burial ground.
Wij Village in Västermo
Wij Village is one of Sörmland's largest villages set in a picturesque rural landscape.
